ICNEER Award

On 19th June 2011 there was a Funtion at Ashram where NGO Eco Center ICNEER in Glittering ceremony gave “ Dr Shirin Gadhia Sustainability Award’.  The award was given in recognition & memory of the great work done by its Founder Dr Mrs Shirin Gadhia who passed away in Ashram Cancer Hospital on 5th April 2011.

Dr Vikram Patel received the Award for Showcasing to World the Sustainability work undertaken at Ashram in form of Solar energy being used for cooking, hot water, air-conditioning, cremation and also generation of biogas for cooking and fuel for vehicle.

Ms Padmaja Reddy and Mr. Jagadeeswara Reddy of Andhra Pradesh received Sustainability Award for the Smoke-Free village work done in 4 villages where the whole villages cooks with solar cookers and/ or Biogas
 
Ms Janak Palta McGilligan and Mr. James (Jimmy)McGilligan of Madhya Pradesh received Award for the selfless work they have done for the Tribal Girls by educating more than 6000 tribal girls in Sustainability
 
Prof. Ajay Chandak of Maharashtra received Award for promoting Renewable through his NGO PRINCE and training Entrepreneurs’ in Solar and Biogas and for innovations in technology.
 
Ms Trupti Doshi and Mr. Jateen Lad of Pondicherry received award for the work they have done in field of Sustainable architecture and show casing the same in Sharman Training Center consturcted with clay at Sri Aurobindo Society.
 
Mr. Klaus Gehrlicher  was awarded for starting a Joint Venture in India to bring their expertise in Renewable in Solar PV MW Power plant and off grid power for rural India.

 Dr Shehnaz Kantharia compeered the Function and school children of Vankuva School welcomed them with dance, music and a cultural program.
